About CUM Media

CUM Media is a culture and entertainment publication. We cover film, television, music, food, sport, politics, comedy and internet culture, and we treat all of it as one continuous conversation rather than eight separate hobbies.

The editorial test for any story is simple: is this something people are actually going to talk about. If the answer is no, it does not run, however worthy it looks on paper. If the answer is yes, we go and do the reporting properly.

The name gets attention. The reporting is what earns trust. We are aware of the order those two things happen in, and we would rather be remembered for the second one.

Being funny does not mean being inaccurate. Claims get attributed. Sources get linked. Opinion and satire are labelled as such, so you never have to guess which one you are reading. When we get something wrong we correct it in public, with the correction attached to the story rather than buried somewhere quieter.

Politics is covered here as part of culture, because that is how most people actually encounter it. News, analysis and opinion are kept separate on the page, and criticism is grounded in what actually happened rather than in what would make the sharper sentence.

We are early. Formats will change, desks will grow, and some of this will be rewritten once the publication has more issues behind it than ahead of it.
